THanks for the input I agree with you nautical star tattoos are really cool and they do have a history behind them. What that history is can be somewhat unclear but was obvisouly tied into sailors very early on. What that means today who knows it depends ont he person wearing it.

I designed my own tatoo with the nautical star. It's pretty freakn' awsome if I do say so myself. I didn't know it had any meaning at all I just thought it look cool; however IT DOES! Make sure even if it's your own design that it doesn't have a meaning you don't want. :)

just keep looking and when you find something YOU like go for it, you cant base your tattoo on what friends or family think of the idea, because then it is not what you want and you are the one stuck with it for the rest of your life. Plus if you get something that a friend or family member has suggested and you stop talking to them you will regret it. and for the people that are worried about the pain you are obviously not ready for a tattoo of course they hurt. grow up and get some balls
