There are tons of great foot tattoo designs out there and if you are thinking about getting a new tattoo and especially if this is your first tatoo then you will want to conisder a foot tattoo as a great possibility. They are often very samll, simple designs, and not very intricate. Since their size, and intricacy is small so is the price of a foot tattoo design and the time commetment to get such a tattoo. You can often get a custom tattoo design for your foot under $50. You can also just go with some stock flash in the studio if you so choose eithr way the cost is very little for a small foot tattoo design. If you go for something huge that starts up your leg or around the ankle the cost will also become more expensive.

Foot Tattoos: Flower Designs
Some ideas for foot tattoos that work well are:

These are just a few ideas. The great thing is about a foot tattoo is they are small. So you can always just start and then add to it as you get inspired to do so. Another great thing about foot tattoos is they are so easily hidden. Simply wear a pair of socks and you have no problem and there are very few times in life when you are not wearing socks. Here Is A Hot Foot Tattoo Design Idea
One of the great ideas for foot tattoo designs is a tribal design. I personally really like the Celtic knotwork especially the spiral nand step patterns as they work very well on the top of a persons foot. The size is perfect and the symetry of the overall design looksgood and you don't have to worry much about the tattoo getting stretched out becuase of weight or muscle gain. If you are planning somehting tribal just think ahead ebcuase it can be hard to go back ona tribal tattoo and continue the design up the rest of your leg unless you plan ahead.
You can see in the gallery pictures of tribal foot tattoos ont he right these can really range from something small, delicate and feminine to something rather large and very masculine.

This little gallery to the right is of foot tattoos that incorporate a star design. Stars are a great symbol to use in tattooing. There is the deep symbolism and rich history behind the star tattoo as for centuries or really the beginning of time man has looked tothe heavnly bodies for information, inspireation and so on. Stars are mysterious yet beautiful and can make a great tattoo.
On the practical side of things star tattoos work out very well for foot tattoos becuase they can be arranged in a variety of ways and are very flexible in terms of size, shape, and combinations. They can also be done in just about any color or color combination and always look great!

Glad you enjoyed the hub. I like the tattoo heels look also have to agree with ya on that one. The top of the last two pictures is a Nicole Ritchie foot tattoo of a rosary of course. Pretty obvious it is a rosary but thought some of you might not recogize it was Nicole Ritchie's foot.
i was wondering if you had any thoughts about getting a fews words on the inner arch of my foot...what are the risks/benefits. i still haven't decided but i want something short and inspirational. thanks!

Honestly I think it is up to you. It is your body and your tattoo so it is for sure up to you. Don't look outside yourself for validation of a tattoo. If you feel drawn to something then go for it.
As far as pain I think the underside or bottom of your foot is goingt o be less painful then the top. There is more fatty tissue. It is easily hidden and would only be shown to those you want to see it which is another benefit depending on your situation.
I think in general quotes can be inspiration and pretty cool and a hidden one like a little secret is an intriguing idea.

I love my foot tattoo. I have a peacock sitting on a branch with peony flowers around it. It takes up the whole top of my foot, and the wing dips down into my big toe. I never regret it. If I wear shoes that are open enough to see it, I get all kinds of comments. I must admit that it did hurt a LOT more then my other tatts, especially on the sides of the foot, and by the toes. Unless you think you can deal with pain, I wouldnt suggest a foot tatt as your first tatt...but...hey...theyre cool...do as you coose.

I just got one on my foot in February and yeah it hurt but it was soooo worth it. I love mine. I look at it all the time. But mine also has meaning, it is a cherry blossom branch that goes from the very back of my foot under my ankle across the top over the the inside a little. To me cherry blossoms are a symbol of beauty, strength, and elegance.
I'm getting my first tattoo on my foot. I want rosary like beads, and ending with two inter-locked hearts at the end instead of a cross. How painful is it? I'm especially worried about the back thats gonna go over my ackelies tendant or whatever it is??
