Do you love to sit out in your front or backyard and watch the day go by?  Honestly there is not much better than a nice relaxing afternoon spent in the garden.  Especially if you have something good on the bar b cue slowly cooking away.  Thus is why folding lawn chairs are so popular.  Be it taking one to your son or daughter’s soccer or baseball game, relaxing in your yard with your family or entertaining 50 guests in your yard a folding lawn chair can come in very handy for many situations.  The best thing is once you are done you can easily fold it up and store it away for next time.  This way your yard does not look overly cluttered or filled with extra things.

Usage:

One of the first things to consider is how you will be using your lawn chair.  Are you looking for a solo lawn chair for yourself or do you plan on having a party and entertaining.  The use of the chair will be a determining factor in which model you buy.  So it can be useful to think ahead of time how the chair will be used.

Materials:

One thing that can really make a chair very different is the type of material it is made out of.  There are chairs made from nylon mesh for summer time, wood for a more sophisticated look and even from straight nylon fabrics.  Some of the chairs come with extra padding and even a cup holder.  So you will defiantly want to match the materials it is made from to how it will be used.  For example for entertaining and backyard parties the wood varieties look very nice and feel ultra luxurious.  However, they are not nearly as portable or useful for sitting at a soccer game.  In those situations it is better to go with a low back chair made from nylon.

Portability

Another thing to consider is the portability and storage issue.  Depending on how often you will be using the chair, including taking it out and putting it away and how far you will be traveling with the chair can really drive your decision on which model to buy.  For going to the beach and soccer field or other outdoor situations you will want something that is pretty small and very portable.  However, if you are just around the house portability is not as much of an issue.

Comfort and Time:

Again how you will use the chair is very important in deciding which h model you should buy.  If you are planning on spending a great deal of time in it and slip away for the afternoon with a good book then you will want something that is ultra comfortable.  If you are planning on sitting for just an hour or so at the beach or the soccer field then something that is smaller and maybe a bit less comfortable for long term use but more portable is a good trade off.

Extras:

Many of the chairs have extra add-ons that come with them.  For example some come with cup holders for your beverage.  This can be very useful and a nice addition depending on your needs.  Also some of the smaller more portable chairs meant for the beach come with an overhead shade included and even backpack straps so the chair is ultra portable.  What extra features will you need?  It really depends on how you will use the folding lawn chair.
